Happy 4:20
Well, shit. I got a full 8 hours of sleep, and 9-10 hours on Friday and Saturday nights, but here I am bleary-eyed and exhausted. Wtf.
There are 3 weeks of school left. This scares the living shit out of me. I don't understand Java code worth a damn, and everything in my CIS class from here until the end is nothing but writing, debugging, compiling, and testing Java. It's going to get increasingly difficult, too, and that's enough to make me want to piss my pants. I don't want this class to get the better of me or make me want to give up, but something just isn't clicking. I asked for help from my professor, and she never even responded. UGH.
Also, my computer is totally fucked. I stored my music on an external hard drive, because I had close to 4,000 songs and it was getting crazy slow. Well, after turning on my computer yesterday, I realized that all but a few hundred of the songs are completely gone. They are still on my iPod, but wtf happened?

Oh god. I 'm too scared to see if my photos are gone too. That's actually worth freaking out over. I can't lose my photos. I thought everything would be SAFE on another drive. Someone please come over and hold my hand and tell me it will be ok, and do a system restore on my computer so all the bad shit is magically gone. Please?
And oh yeah. Happy 4:20. I should be working all day and night on some Java shit, but I'm going to squeeze in a bowl and Pineapple Express tonight. If nothing else, it will be a temporary relaxation/escape thing, which I need, because I'm so goddamned high strung.

Yay!! Happy 4/20!!
I've been smiling all morning at my work emails talking about "a 4/20 extract" which, at work, means a data stat sample as of April 20. But 4/20 extract sounds so funny. I have nightmares about losing my years' worth of photos. I have them all backed up on an extenal hard drive, but unless I put that external hard drive in a safe place AWAY FROM MY APT, then it won't do any good if my place burns down or I get robbed.
there's this program called ipod to computer transfer safe. it'll cost you something like $12-15 and you DL it from the web. If you don't have a backup of your songs, totally get that. I had to do it myself. I wanted to cry when I lost my songs...about 3700 of them or something like that. I still ended up losing some bkz I had them "unchecked" the last time I updated my iPod.
look for a java tutorial online? they usually have tons of free sites that can help. professors ...ugh, I've never been successful with a professor that can actually take the time out of his/her day to assist you. Pffffft on them.
I thought Pineapple Express was the funniest movie. James Franco is just adorable.

Sorry! Didn't mean to scare you about the photos... it's just that since the digital age, we all tend to not take as good of care of "our negatives" as when they were physical strips of plastic. I have all my negatives from high school in a firebox and keep meaning to get a safety deposit box for my external hard drive. But then I would have to be disciplined enough to go get it on a routine basis to add the newer pics to it.
@EmpressTangent - what aboutgetting a fireproof safe for your house and put it in there at night or when you leave? keep it right next to the computer.

haha, well if you ever need help feel free to give me a call. I did my entire senior project in java and still goof around in it from time to time.

the phone service at my house really really blows though, so we might need to do aim (stnsix) or skype or something.
@BearVsUnicorn - I've totally been wanting to try Skype! I use a lot of videoconferencing stuff for work (Comotiv, DimDim, MegaMeeting, etc.) but oddly, I've never tried the original.
So what do you think about maybe next week instead? I'll have to take my exam by the end of next week, and it may be better for me to work with you closer to that date.
yet again our lives overlap. i'm so freaked about end of semester shit, there's just sooooooo much to do, and so little time. the whole semester just dragged and now that it's ending time is flying by.
and the computer thing, i finish my english paper monday 30 minutes before i have to leave for class, 4 pages, perfect. i neglect to save before i spell check and the spell check freezes word perfect. totally frozen, no way to save, i close out hoping my work was saved in backup, and IT WAS GONE. forever. i thought i might die.
luckily the prof let me rewrite it and email it to her at night. phew.
@skinnyjeanqueen - I felt sick to my stomach reading that. It's AWFUL. I'm glad you got to rewrite it, but still. What a sucky thing to happen. I bet you'll start saving your work every 5 seconds now.

I'm usually busy on Tuesdays and do Yoga on Thursdays till 7, other than that I'm pretty open 
my 4/20 sucked. since i had to go for xrays, etc. blah. but i did smoke though and that's all that matters!!!

@sheshe143 - Yes, that is totally all that matters. 4:20 never seems to be as good as it used to be, though. Sad.
